T-shirt Collection Presentation by Jacques Schneider

Program

On June 6, as part of the Ukrainian Days (UA Days) in Luxembourg festival, Jacques Schneider launched an exclusive t-shirt line featuring a uniquely designed symbol – a creature deeply rooted in both Ukrainian and Luxembourgish cultures.

This t-shirt line features a special symbol of a creature associated with both Ukrainian and Luxembourgish cultures. This symbol embodies the unity and connection between our two countries, highlighting our shared values and Luxembourg’s solidarity with Ukraine.

“One Mermaid. Two Nations. Same Values.
Одна русалка. Дві країни. Спільні цінності.
D’Melusina. Zwou Natiounen. Di Selwecht Wäerter.”

The unique symbol is accompanied by a text from the perspective of the mermaid herself, a nod to the defensive nature of the creature and its persistent relevance in Ukrainian and Luxembourgish cultures.

“I am proud. I am tender. I am beautiful. I am fearless.
Forever young. With millennia of history upon my shoulders
I will not harm you unless you offend me.
I defend my own world. I fight for what I believe in.”

Jacques Schneider is an ambassador of UA Days 2024 and one of the most famous and high-demand artists, photographers, and painters in Luxembourg. He has worked with almost all Luxembourg companies, institutions and celebrities, from Luxlait and Cargolux to the Grand Ducal couple. He knows very well the importance of cherishing culture and its preservation.

When asked about his view on the collaboration, Jacque Schneider commented – “we (Luxembourgers and Ukrainians) are very similar, we are the same. We want the war to be over, with final peace in Ukraine. We want to live peacefully in our own ways and cultures”.
